Past Awards: 2010 NSW Volunteer of the Year Award

The 2010 NSW Volunteer of the Year Award was The Centre for Volunteering's most successful Award year to date...When the inaugural awards were held in 2007 we received 200 nominations, in 2008 it was 450. In 2009 this increased to over 750! In 2010, with the help of 2010 Award Partner Westpac, nominations blew out to over 6,100!

NSW Volunteer of the Year Award Winners

Throughout October and November 2010, 67 volunteers were recognised at a regional level as Regional Individual, Senior, Youth and Team Volunteers of the Year. 2010 saw the launch of the Highly Commended Regonal Award, with over 20 Individuals and Volunteer Teams being recognised.

Meet the 2010 NSW Regional Volunteers of the Year

On 4 December 2010, 160 Regional Winners, nominators, volunteers, guests, MPs, Volunteer Managers and CEOs of NSWs' leading not-for-profit organisations and members of the media joined together for the 2010 NSW Volunteer of the Year Award Ceremony at Parliament House, Sydney.

The following 2010 NSW Volunteer of the Year Award winners were announced at the State Award Ceremony:

• Timothy Bayl, 2010 NSW Youth Volunteer of the Year
• Bill Phippen, 2010 NSW Senior Volunteer of the Year Award
• Christaan Cartledge, 2010 NSW Highly Commended Senior Volunteer of the Year
• Warrawong Community Kitchen Lunch Volunteer Team, 2010 NSW Volunteer Team of the Year
• 2WAR FM Volunteer Team, 2010 NSW Highly Commended Volunteer Team of the Year
• Rodney Lowe, 2010 NSW Employee Volunteer of the Year Award
