2010 NSW Volunteer of the Year winners announced
Wadalba's Graham Symes has been named the 2010 NSW Volunteer of the Year in recognition of his dedication establishing and running the Traffic Offenders Program (TOPS) at a prestigious function held at Parliament House on Friday, 3 December 2010. Read more
2010 Regional Winners recognised at Parliament House
The 2010 NSW Volunteer of the Year Awards sought nominations from 19 regions across the State, eight of these in the Sydney Metropolitan area. There are three main categories open for nomination: Individual, Team and Employee or Corporate Volunteer of the Year. The first two are judged and presented at both Regional and State levels and the later as a State award only. In addition there are two special award categories for Youth and Senior volunteers who stand out in their region. Read more

Lorraine Huisman is a passionate and dedicated volunteer with the Illawarra branch of the Association of Relatives and Friends of the Mentally Ill (ARAFMI). As a volunteer for ARAFMI Lorraine travels over 70 kilometres a day, three times a week, and is an enthusiastic promoter of the good work performed by ARAFMI. Read more

Adam Goodes receives Volunteer Ambassador Award
Veteran Sydney Swans Australian Rules player and dual Brownlow Medalist for best and fairest player Adam Goodes today accepted his NSW Volunteer of the Year Awards’ Gold Ambassador for 2009 for his work as a role model and mentor to young Aboriginals. The Swans No 37 guernsey wearer accepted the award from Lynne Dalton, CEO, The Centre for Volunteering at a home training session in May before the match against Western Bulldogs. Read more
