Past Awards: Inaugural NSW Volunteer of the Year Award (2007)

The 2007 NSW Volunteer of the Year Award showcased active volunteers who have shown dedication and initiative in their work and have positively contributed to the not-for-profit organisation they volunteer for.

The inaugural NSW Volunteer of the Year Award was launched in June 2007 by NSW Minister for Volunteering Linda Burney. The Centre for Volunteering developed the Award, a major State Government supported initiative, to recognise the contribution the 1.4 million volunteer workers make to the community every year.

The Centre for Volunteering received 170 quality nominations from over 150 organisations by mid October 2007.

The inaugural NSW Volunteer of the Year Award was announced at an Award Ceremony held at Parliament House on 5 December 2008, to celebrate International Volunteer Day. 160 Regional Winners, volunteers, MPs, Volunteer Managers and CEOs of NSWs' leading not-for-profit organisations and members of the media joined together for the awarding of Volunteer Awards to:
