Past Awards: 2009 NSW Volunteer of the Year Award
The 2009 NSW Volunteer of the Year Award was The Centre for Volunteering's most successful Award year to date.
After receiving lots of feedback from people about their desire to nominate volunteer teams the NSW Volunteer Team of the Year Award was announced for 2009.
2009 NSW Volunteer of the Year Award Winners
Throughout October and November 2009, 38 volunteers were recognised at a regional evel – meet the 2009 NSW Regional Volunteers of the Year.
On 4 December 2009, 140 Regional Winners, nominators, volunteers, guests, MPs, Volunteer Managers and CEOs of NSWs' leading not-for-profit organisations and members of the media joined together for the 2009 NSW Volunteer of the Year Award Ceremony at Parliament House, Sydney.
The following 2009 NSW Volunteer of the Year Award winners were announced at the State Award Ceremony:
- Liz Mullinar AM, 2009 NSW Volunteer of the Year
- Hayden Zammit, 2009 NSW Youth Volunteer of the Year
- Thea Batterham, 2009 NSW Senior Volunteer of the Year
- Nigel Dearinger, 2009 NSW Employee Volunteer of the Year
- Timehelp Holroyd, 2009 NSW Volunteer Team of the Year
2010 NSW Volunteer Ambassador of the Year: Adam Goodes
Adam Goodes, Sydney Swans Australian Rules player and dual Brownlow Medallist for best and fairest player, has accepted the invitation to be the NSW Volunteer Ambassador of the Year for 2010 in recognition of his work as a role model and mentor to Aboriginal youth.
